As of spring 2010, the high-performance model BMW M3 consistently combines its outstanding driving performance figures with further reduced fuel consumption and exhaust emission levels. The range of BMW EfficientDynamics measures fitted as standard in the models BMW M3 Coupé, BMW M3 Convertible and BMW M3 Sedan is now to be supplemented with the Auto Start Stop Function. This reduces the average fuel consumption and CO2 levels of the BMW M3 by up to 8 per cent or 24 grams of CO2 per kilometre. In order to further hone the outstandingly sporty profile of the model there will also be a Competition Package available as of spring 2010.


The range of driver assistance systems optionally available for the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M will also be extended in spring 2010. Both models can now be fitted with the functions Side View and Speed Limit Info. The remainder of the BMW M GmbH portfolio will likewise feature new offers. Directly at the market launch of the new BMW X5, a newly configured M Sports Package will be available for the Sports Activity Vehicle. The new BMW 3 Series Coupé and the new BMW 3 Series Convertible can also be upgraded from the start with an M Sports Package. Auto Start Stop Function for the BMW M3 - for the first time in conjunction with a dual clutch transmission.

The BMW M3 achieves its outstanding performance with impressive efficiency. Its 4.0 litre V8 high-revving engine mobilises 309 kW/420 bhp, enabling superior acceleration response due to its unique propulsion. In addition to its fascinating performance characteristics, the 8-cylinder engine - developed exclusively for the BMW M3 - is characterised by an unusually high degree of efficiency. Additional efficiency potential is now tapped into with the Auto Start Stop Function. This helps the drive avoid idling phases when stopping at junctions or in congested traffic. In order to prevent unnecessary fuel consumption the engine is switched off when the vehicle comes to a halt. As soon as the driver wishes to continue driving, the engine is re-activated without delay.

The Auto Start Stop Function is used both in vehicles with standard 6-speed manual transmission and in conjunction with the M dual clutch transmission with Drivelogic. The BMW M3 is thus the first model - along with the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 - to use this efficiency-enhancing measure in combination with an automated manual transmission.

The increase in efficiency brought about by the Auto Start Stop Function is up to 8 per cent of 24 grams of CO2 per kilometre, depending on the model and transmission type. For example, the BMW M3 Coupé with 7-speed M dual clutch transmission and Drivelogic powered by a V8 high-revving engine with 309 kW/420 bhp now achieves an average fuel consumption on the EU test cycle of 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres (6-speed manual transmission: 12.4 litres). The same figures apply to the BMW M3 Sedan. In the case of the BMW M3 Convertible, the average fuel consumption is reduced to 11.5 litres (M dual clutch transmission with Drivelogic) or 12.7 litres (6-speed manual transmission) per 100 kilometres. All versions of the BMW M3 will also meet the exhaust emission norm EU5 in future.

Modified rear lights with glass covers in a homogeneous red colour provide an additional visual accentuation in the BMW M3 Coupé and the BMW M3 Convertible. With two harmoniously illuminating light banks fed by LED units, they create a characteristic nocturnal design.

Ternyata, Mio 125 kini sudah memasuki tahap uji coba dari pabrikan. Maka dari itu, skutik ini tak lama lagi akan segera diluncurkan. Ia akan bersaing dengan rival utama, Honda PCX serta Suzuki Skywave dan Skydrive.

Yamaha Motor Company, prinsipal YMKI di Jepang, pertengahan Oktober lalu sudah mengumumkan untuk meluncurkan bebek CVT di negara-negara ASEAN tahun depan. Kendati pasar utama Yamaha sekarang ini adalah Indonesia, negara pertama tempat motor bebek atau moped CVT ini diluncurkan adalah Vietnam. Peluncuran akan dilakukan tahun depan.

Yamaha Motor Jepang mendahulukan Vietnam karena bebek konvensional yang masih mengandalkan transmisi gigi sudah tidak ada lagi. Namun, Bambang belum mau memastikan kapan bebek CVT diperkenalkan di Indonesia

"Mungkin motor pertama di Pontianak yang menggunakan cat fosfor," ujar Hendry dengan bangga. Untuk membuat efek cahaya, menurutnya hal itu tidak terlalu merepotkan. Hanya mencampurkan bubuk fosfor ke dalam cat.

modipikasi ini di kerjakan oleh yanuar di surabaya,Cak War—sapaan karib Yanuar—tak sulit menggarapnya. Sedikit kendala muncul pada pengadaan bahan.




Peredam kejut (shock) hidraulis, misalnya, didapat di pasar loak, dan berburu barang di pasar loak harus sabar. "Shock itu bekas mesin pabrik," ungkap Cak War. Selain shock, bahan lain untuk merangkai air sus, yakni kompresor yang berfungsi untuk menciptakan tekanan udara pada sokbreker.

Kompresor yang dibutuhkan tidak terlalu besar. Pasalnya, bagian itu akan diletakkan di depan sadel (centerbone). Cak War akhirnya memilih kompresor AC Suzuki Carry. Setelah semua bahan lengkap, barulah penginstalan dilakukan.

Di sini, kompresor yang berubah fungsi sebagai kompresor angin digerakkan dengan belt yang dihubungkan ke magnet mesin. Jadi, ketika mesin hidup, kompresor ikut bekerja mengisi angin ke tabung yang diletakkan di bawah jok. Tinggi rendah peredam kejut diatur melalui switch.

Tampilan motor juga diubah. Jika dilihat frontal dari depan, maka ia menyerupai Honda BeAT, sedangkan bodi samping dan belakang dari Honda Revo. Hanya, saat jalan, penunggang agak repot kalau pakai celana berbahan kain. Lalu, kaki juga harus ngangkang terus karena ada kompresor. (Ronie)

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Ternyata, Yamaha Indonesia Group atau YIG sudah menyiapkan strategi khusus untuk bersaing dengan rival sekaligus mengambil alih pimpinan pasar motor nasional 2010. Mereka akan menambah kapasitas produksi 500.000 unit tahun ini. Selain itu, PT Yamaha Motor Manufacturing West Java atau YMMWJ akan menginvestasi puluhan juta dollar AS.

Yoshiteru Takahashi, Presiden Komisaris YIG yang juga Managing Director Motorcycle Operation Yamaha Motor Company (YMC) Jepang, menyatakan bahwa saat ini kapasitas terpasang (produksi total) pabrik mencapai 3,2 juta unit per tahun dengan memaksimalkan lembur dan dua shift kerja pegawai.

Target minimum Yamaha pada tahun ini mencapai produksi 3 juta unit atau meningkat dari posisi tahun lalu yang hanya 2,65 juta unit seiring perbaikan perekonomian nasional. Nah, kalau pasar motor nasional sesuai prediksi akan tumbuh minimum 10 persen dari 5,8 juta unit menjadi 6,3 juta unit, maka kapasitas terpasang merek belambang garpu tala itu akan bisa dicapai.

Sesuai hasil pengetesan di jalan, perbandingan laju grafik dynotest juga menunjukan BeAT menang responsif di putaran awal. Sementara Mio menang nafas yang lebih panjang di putaran atas.



Pengetesan dyno dengan beban penyemplak 70 kg, BeAT raih power 6,2 dk saat mencapai 25 km/jam. Kenaikan power nyaris stabil sampai ke putaran atas. Tapi top-speed sampai pengujian 9.000 rpm, BeAT mentok di kisaran 90 km/jam.

Sementara putaran bawah Mio memang lebih lambat. Mencapai power 6,2 dk setelah di atas 50 km/jam. Tapi, saat power BeAT mulai menurun di kecepatan 68 km/jam, Mio justru terus naik sampai power maksimal yang didapat pada kecepatan 78 km/jam.

Tak heran, pada pengujian sampai 9.000 rpm, nafas atas Mio masih bisa tembus sampai kecepatan 105 km/jam, meski dengan power di bawah 4 dk. Artinya, BeAT hanya menggigit saat putaran bawah, sedang Mio digdaya pada putaran atas.

Lanjut ke perbandingan power, meski selisihnya tidak jauh, maksimal power Mio lebih tinggi yaitu 6,68 dk, dibanding BeAT yang hanya raih 6,61 dk. Ingat, ini pengujian dyno dengan beban orang 70 kg.

Tapi, power maksimal BeAT lebih cepat didapat, yaitu pada 7.000 rpm. Sementara Mio, baru mencapai power maksimal pada 8.000 rpm.
Fakta ini makin menegaskan Mio memang lebih lambat mencapai peak power. Tapi, capaian yang didapat memang lebih tinggi dibanding BeAT.

Sebagai catatan, pengujian diukur power di roda belakang. Bukan langsung dari mesin seperti yang biasa dilakukan pabrik.(Tim Motor Plus)

Honda Thailand menargetkan penjualan tahun ini mencapai 50.000 unit. CV-Matic memberi kan sensasi berkendara seperti motor skuter matik (skutik) tapi menggunakan platform motor bebek. Honda Thailand juga mengatakan akan mengekspor motor ini ke negara lain di kawasan ASEAN.

Penjualan sepeda motor di Thailand sepanjang 2009 mencapai sekitar 1,54 juta unit, turun 10% dibandingkan 2008. Dari total tersebut lebih dari 60% dikontribusi oleh Honda. Honda masih menjadi raja roda dua di Thailand selama 21 tahun berturut-turut. Karena alasan mudah dikendarai, penjualan skutik melesat tajam hingga 710.000 unit tahun lalu, separuh dari total penjualan motor sepanjang 2009.

new suzuki thunder 2010 akan meramaikan motor sport dengan kapasitas mesin 125cc seperti yang di kutip dari JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Setelah meluncurkan skubek Suzuki Skydrive, PT Indomobil Niaga International (IMNI) selaku agen tunggal pemegang merek sepeda motor Suzuki di Indonesia bersiap melemparkan produk baru lagi. Jenisnya, motor sport, yakni Suzuki Thunder 125 cc. Desainnya bukan total baru, melainkan facelift.



Menurut Marketing Sales Admisnistration Section Head Manager 2W IMNI Suandi Widiarto, pihaknya belum bisa memberi tahu kapan waktunya akan diperkenalkan. Hanya, besar kemungkinan, perkenalan dilangsungkan pada kuartal ketiga yang berbarengan dengan pemilihan presiden RI.

Suzuki menampilkan Thunder 125 cc facelift untuk menahan laju kompetitornya, Bajaj CXD 125. Perusahaan sepeda motor dari India itu pun siap meladeni persaingan Thunder di pasar nasional. "Kami memiliki cukup penggemar yang fanatik," ungkap M Cahyono Widiastono, Marketing Manager Bajaj Pulsar yang saat ini masih mengandalkan tiga variannya, selain XCD 125, ada Pulsar 180, dan Pulsar 200.

Soal harga Thunder yang baru, pihak Suzuki masih merahasiakannya. Mengenai target penjualan tiap bulannya, berdasarkan pengalaman model sebelumnya, berkisar sekitar 3.000 unit.
